Notifications your way

We've reorganised notifications so we alert you about what matters to you, when it matters.

Where to set them up

Open Notifications and tap "Settings" (direct link). Everything is there: the main switch, browser alerts, email and the rest below.

Per tipster and per channel

Under "Tipsters" and "Premium channels" each one has its own card with five switches: enabled, picks, posts, sound and vibration. For example, get one tipster's picks silently and another's with sound.

Sounds, vibration and quiet hours

• Choose from 20 custom sounds (preview them first) and 7 vibration patterns.
• The "Sound" switch really silences the alert when it's off.
• "Quiet hours": pick times and days when no push or email reaches you; notifications still wait for you in the bell.

What we notify you about

Turn new followers, messages, reactions to your messages, picks and posts, and groups on or off separately.

Tidier in the app

• Opening a chat, channel, pick or post clears its notifications from your phone's tray.
• In the Notifications inbox you can swipe to dismiss an alert, with undo.
• If your phone or browser has alerts turned off, we tell you and take you to where you can turn them on.

Some features, such as custom sounds and vibration, depend on the app and your phone's system.
